The answer is that they did. No amount of spin that you put on will change that.

The French scuppered the Concorde franchise by refusing to supply parts to any investors that might want to take over the fleet (I believe Richard Branson was keen to take on the Concorde legacy). It was shoddy French work practices that caused the crash in Paris and it was the excuse that the French needed to get out of a project with which they weren't fully happy to start with.

So, yes, Concorde failed, but only because it was allowed to fail.
