Okay...
We know JKR has said the seventh book ends with the words, "...a scar."
We were just coming up with a couple things that could fit it, and naturally the conversation went silly.

When Harry looked up from the bed, he saw Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon storming from the bedroom, satisfied that he had made a complete recovery from his fall. Outside the window, the gardener, Tom, looked so much like Professor Dumbledore. The neighbor lady, putting her cat out the door, looked just like Minerva McGonagle. Up the street he saw a red headed boy teasing the dentist's daughter, with the big teeth and wavy hair. Looking around, he was rather disappointed with the idea that there was no place like home, And, when he reached up to check, there was no sign of a scar.

And Harry woke up to the usual screaming of his Aunt Petunia to get out of bed. The dream had been so real, so vivid. Had he really received a letter from a school of magic? He reached to his forehead, but he could find no trace of a scar.
(that's the"Dallas" ending...)

And after all they'd been through, it turned out that the solution to the entire problem was to visit a decent plastic surgeon who could simply remove a scar.
(that's the malpractice lawsuit ending)
Anybody else got an idea?
