I know what you mean... and it would be great for Harry! BUT everyone else was so final about Sirius's death. Everyone, even nearly headless Nick said he wouldn't even come back as a ghost. ALthough something really gauls me about his death scene (as I mentioned) so I'm probably completely wrong

Good point... double edged sword that last phrase!

You are sooo right after everything Harry has been through it really would suck to have Harry's corpse lying in a coffin at the end.

Ahhh but the point of my above comment was that he wasn't trying to kill Harry, he was telling Harry not to use an unforgivable curse, as Harry was trying to us cruciate against Snape at the time. So it fits completely with your idea that Snape made an unbreakable vow to protect Harry. Here he was trying to protect Harry from his own anger and drawing him to using dark magic. Also right after that another death eater attacks Harry from behind and Snape yells at them not to!

hrm... I don't remember it and yet its ringing some bells in my head that one... I'll check back and see if I can find a reference.

True... but again where as we both agree it would be horrible, I doubt neither of us can completely rule it out as an ending! And thats one of the wonderful things about the books isn't it. I've made so many guesses about what will happen and to be honest most have been wrong, and they probably are this time round too
Its nice to read fantasy books that I can't guess the ending to after chapters 5... until these books came along, that was rarely happening.
