Here's going really off-topic but had to comment!!!
Interesting that you should bring up Germans and seeming interest in other cultures. My husband is Navajo and he was out in Colorado on the Ute reservation a few weeks ago. He was going to check out this restaurant in Durango for dinner and it was so packed that they had been taking reservations--which he didn't have! Never fear, he had his dinner there. Almost a dozen german tourists in a group were there, spotted him and his dilemma, and invited him to join them for dinner. The offer was: they'd buy in exchange for telling them about his culture and answering questions.
Most of the tourists that head out here to "Indian Country" do seem to be German. I've only seen a couple french and japanese tourists.
