Most of these I have seen and they are great movies! Rainman,Good Will Hunting, Man w/o a Face, and also A Perfect Mind have a place here because of the math background and personal trials of the characters! The line, in
Good Will Hunting, about how he knows all the stuff("...can't explain it I just see it!") was the best way I have seen it described. That was the reason for most of my arguments with math teachers about showing my work!
teacher: How did you get this answer?
me: Worked it out!
teacher: How? You didn't show your work on the paper!
me: What paper?
teacher: The paper with the answers on it!
me: Didn't use any paper. I used my head!
teacher: You have to prove you know this math.
me: Are all the answers right?
teacher: Yes!
me: Then doesn't that prove it enough already?
teacher: But
how did you figure it out in your head?
me: Don't know. It just happened!
teacher: Arrrrggghhhhh!!! Sit down and be quiet!
me: Yes maam! Do you want the rest of the week's homework now or should I wait to hand it on on each day?
teacher: Are you enjoying this?
me: No, maam! By the way you are wrong on that problem!
teacher: Go to the principal's office! NOW!!!
Saving Private Ryan should be shown in all high school history classes to show what wars are really like.
