People drill wells all the time and find water ,without the aid of dowsers .
When tested dowsers do no better than expected by chance and often a lot worse .

However, one can

Two believers/dowsers agreeing does not a fact make .

As have others with no claims for dowsing . The failures never seemed to be recalled .
And there is no shortage of evidence to confirm the failures .

Again , when actually put to the test dowsers do no better than non dowsers and frequently fail .

Always worth a laugh .

Whilst not producing much evidence , this is an all time favourite .

Then any claims for solstice orientations go out the window .

Facing a general east means you get the earliest possible light and heat after the darkest and often coldest period in the 24 hr. day , also the point when you are most likely to be "at home " .
