A number of the "megalith sites" that I have seen on the
Internet are ready explained as natural features, e.g.
jointed and spheroidal weathered bedrock, and by
apophenia (pareidolia). Some favorite examples are the
Gornaya Shoria of Siberia, the Pantiacolla Pyramid of
Peru, and the Treasure of the Llanganates, Ecuador.

A few of the so-called American "megaliths"
that I have seen on the Internet also look an
awful lot either like jointed and weathered
bedrock or glacial erratics. Areas in which
the bedrock has been exposed by glaciation
have a lot of exposed bedrock in which the
jointing has been exposed by and enhanced by
glacial and metlwater erosion.
