Sadly the "lively discussions" never materialized. Strange that a very simple method for figuring out where you were in Egypt holds no interest with alleged Egyptology fans. I devised a unique and simple way of measuring in Egypt using just a stick measuring 20.62 inches (or the length from your eye to your clenched fist) and The Pyramids and no one offered a comment. Actually very sad. I wonder if someone else had suggested this, perhaps Anthony or John Wall whether it would have garnered more attention. Regardless it stands on it's own merits AND DOES WORK quite well.
Is it what the Ancient Egyptians used ? Well I am still waiting for a better solution.
