I was referring to the entire drop from the []b[]w which was the height of the Upper Eye of Horus (80') all the way down to the end of Manetho's "bowshot" (300') at the foot of the cliff face. Petrie said the canals which transported water from the water collection device (Horus' apron) to the cliff face dropped only slightly so they could maximize their ability to use all the energy from this water.
The NE counterweight on the cliff face probably was actually utilized to lift a few stones atop the structure in the early stages but mostly was used to pull stone up out of the main quarry (on the ramps) right to the pyramid. The other counterweights worked the Sphinx quarry.
Objects have exactly the same potential energy based on their height whether they are falling or fixed in position. As an object falls its potential energy (mass x height) is converted to kinetic energy (velocity x mass) such that at every point Ep = Ek.
Water is very heavy so stores a great deal of potential energy which is useful for work if it can be collected. With great capacity it ascends from earth to heaven and then takes back the power of the above and below. (first corollary to Newton's third law of motion stated quite eloquently) Some of the translations for this are even poetic such as the one that suuggests it "orders the lights above". Yes, indeed, it makes quite a spectacular rainbow.

They only dragged extremely large amounts into a pile at the sites of the great pyramids and YES, I am suggesting that each and every great pyramid had a geyser. This is why they built them where they did. This is where the geyser field was.

Obviously there was an astounding amount of work to do to accomplish these tasks. I'm just suggesting that none of that work was dragging stones up ramps.
