How about a little CO2 to fill the vacuum;
2110a. N. [is not enveloped] by the earth;
2110b I [];.t-wt.t, thou art not enveloped by the earth.
2110c. Thy fame is by day; thy fear is by night, as a god, lord of fear...
... 2111. [O] Osiris, the overflow comes, the inundation hastens, Geb groans.
CO2 is not enveloped by the earth when it falls from Osiris. It is a topic
of learned discussion during the day light hours but at night when solar heat-
ing stops and the wind slows deadly pockets of I[];.t-wt.t can accumulate in
low lying areas.
788b. the efflux goes forth from the god, the secretion which comes out of Osiris,...
...791a. It is agreeable to thy nose on account of the smell of ’I[];.t-wt.t;
Some people can smell carbon dioxide (it's sweet and metallic) but what they're
probably talking about is the odor of the minerals dissolved in the carbonic acid
which forms when the gas is dissolved in water.
198a. O 'Inw-Crown, thou has come forth from him as he came forth from thee.
198b. The great ’I[];.t has given birth to thee, the ’I[];.t-wt.t has adorned thee;
198c. the ’I[];.t-wt.t has given birth to thee, the great ’I[];.t has adorned thee,...
The crown is the top of the water spray. It was given birth by carbon dioxide.
It was adorned by the gas coming out of solution.
1922 + 2 (Nt. 744). if (thy) father calls thee "I[];.t," retreat, such is not thy name.
This last one is subtle but the most telling of all. Note that the parenthetical
aside are the words of the translator, not the Egyptians so just ignore it;
131d. His nurse is 'I[];.t;
131e. it is she who makes his life (through nourishment?); it is she who gave birth to N.
It says "gas" makes the life of Osiris and gave him birth.
There are a few oither uses that are also consistent but not so dramatic.
Why translate "'I[].t-wt.t" as anything other than carbon dioxide. It is consistent with
the literal meaning of the words of the pyramid builders throughout the Pyramid Texts.

Man fears the pyramid, time fears man.
