It would only be spilled from the level the CW's were filled on down. Even if there was no water pressure they might find it easier to make more lifts for higher stones than carry the water to a greater elevation. While I still don't believe there was much real danger from the machinery as they built higher they'd have less room that wasn't exposed to this danger. If they lifted water only to a fairly low level they'd have much more room to work. This means only the bottom of the pyramid would be stained red. It would appear as a band around the bottom if lots was spilled.
I would think this was quite apparent when it was new. I can't see it in photos now but I'm not sure I'd expect to. It's one of many things that should be looked into. And no, this doesn't only apply to things I have a primary interest in but to ALL the basic facts and characteristics which apply. There seems to be an assumption that ramps were used and most everyone is perfectly content to wait until the proof falls into our laps. We've waited 150 years for this proof and never seemed to notice the facts against ramps just keep piling up.
It will probably never drop into our laps because they probably didn't use ramps. It's high time to figure out what they did use.
