Clive, I do not appreciate your asking for assistance on my behalf.
If I need to ask Jon or anybody else for help, then I shall do so direct.
And for your information, I do not have any problem at all with Edgar's linear measurements of the Descending Passage.

Actually, according to Petrie the gradient is 26:30:52.39 to 26:32:43.77 (26:31:23 is the mean gradient).
In more detail:
From foot of entrance to Scored Line =
26:28:00 to 26:30:00
From Scored Line to Descending Passage/Ascending Passage floor lines intersection =
26:27:14.81
From foot of entrance to Descending Passage/Ascending Passage floor lines intersection =
26:27:44.55 to 26:28:15.35
From foot of entrance to 4140” =
26:30:52.39 to 26:32:43.77
See Petrie's
Pyramids and Temples of Giza First Edition 1883 Sec. 37 [p.59].
J & M Edgar give the gradient as 26:18:10 (slope 3723p" [entrance to lower end of Well Shaft], horizontal 3353.768p", vertical 1650.023p").
It would appear that M & R adopted the Edgar's reading.

Again, I do not appreciate your asking for help on my behalf.

The details I have given above should be of some help.
My conclusion is that the Edgar brothers noted 26:
18:10 instead of 26:
28:10

We can't all be right, but we could all be wrong ...
