Want you to know...I lost the reply to this one it's in computerland somewhere...so here is the second shot.
The concept of the passages pointing to stars is not that promising at best.
If we look at this scenario in a different point of view and place ourselves in the position of the designer.
First...you do not want thievery to occur.
Second...you want the chambers discovered but difficult to find, however, you are going to give clues to those who wish to search for these entrances.
The first pyramid opened was probably G3 with the northern segment "screaming" (as you would say) "please open here"...the location is visibly obvious from the shape and formation of the base granite casing.
The entrance is dead center of the northern side and this in itself is an oddity since the AE adored Ra/Re the Sun. Why put the entrance where the Sun does not shine?
There is no way that you would have the entrance set at ground level...too easy to find...it had to be well above the base.
The statement of G3 being opened first is indicated true by the fact that the two larger pyramids were attempted to be broken into at their center point of their base...they duplicated the feat. Good fortune was on the side of those who first entered...IOW...they got lucky.
Given the option to find the entrance today financed out of your own pocket...I would say that nobody would bother...the financial return isn't there...too costly and dangerous.
The ascending passage was blocked with granite plugs, the antechamber had three huge sliding stones/portcullises that restricted those attempting to enter and there were at least two granite plugs set into the passage leading to the Kc, But nothing blocking the subterranean chamber and Queen's chamber.
In all...there was a deliberate attempt to prevent entry into the Kc only using a deliberate "easy-to-dismantle" system. Breaking into the Kc was a simple task...nothing too difficult or dangerous.
Why did they plug these passages?
Simple...
The designers wanted the first invaders to follow the sealed passages to provoke them into believing treasures were hidden within, while preventing them from damaging the balance of the structure.
They succeeded in both, leaving us with exactly what the designers wanted us to have...their "stone book" of knowledge.

I believe Thuban would be the only star visible through the passage at that time.
Looking along the shaft then the angle deflection from the north precessional circle is only +/- 3.37 degrees.
Setting this angle onto the circle you can see that Alioth is far from view.
I believe this to be true…wise to have a pro confirm yes/no.
Best.
