Since there are no casing stones available for each course one can do neither without involving trigonometry. Even though the horizontal distances can be calculated using trig, there is, of course, no evidence to suggest the AE's were aware of or used trig and Petrie’s survey provided no horizontal dimensions. With such wild variations in the course heights it would seem impossible to establish a discernable pattern that may have been employed. There fore the logical conclusion is that the corner casing stones were set first and the balance of the course was filled to the designated depth of that course in the same fashion masons use today, cutting the stones to fit as required. Any ideas?
Is there any additional information not listed in Petrie's survey?
