Tallet specifically warns against reading too much into the diaries in his latest work. There s no mention of any great pyramid being a tomb nor that any great pyramid was built using a ramp. These are mere assumptions made by people whose models of ancient Egypt are composed of Egyptological thought.

Yes. We can glean insights into the captain named "Merer" who is obviously a real person but the problem is that everything we "determined" from interpretation. He never said he was hauling stones to Giza and the log of his activities might imply he was actually loading and supporting the ships that did. He never said the pyramid is a tomb or that he believed in imaginary consciousnesses that drove behavior or that he believed in magic. Indeed, there is no obvious reference to magic in any of the diaries so far and they appear to be the mundane operations of a shup that existed solely in the real world in the eyes of its captain.
