He probably noted the 'seeming success' of Cladking and many other fringe believers in following a simple strategy; don't answer questions; never discuss or acknowledge contra-evidence and most importantly just keep repeating the same claims as many times as possible.
'Seeming success', when they get to this point they are no longer trying to make a scientific point or to try and change orthodoxy or mainstream opinions their only wish is to gain adulation for challenging the same.
He did a 'fringe reset' long ago; dismissed any evidence against his ideas and no longer recognize any counter-argument as valid against his ideas.
