Oddly, despite all the evidence to the contrary produced in recent years, he is still arguing that the crewmarks in the relieving chambers are 19th century forgeries.

Even more oddly, he also mentions Humphries Brewer ... but never addresses the question of how - and when - Brewer was supposed to have actually reached Egypt in time to join Vyse's team.
