Howard Vyse's supposed "deceit" has been extensively discussed on this forum and several others.

As we know, it's claimed that he acted fraudulently to obtain a seat in Parliament (except that he was never found guilty of any such crime); and supposedly forged the cartouche name of Khufu inside the relieving chambers of the Great Pyramid (except that neither he nor anyone else in 1837 would have had the necessary knowledge to carry out such an exercise).
