The evidence will bite you on the nose if you aren't careful.
The evidence is that the literal meaning of the Pyramid Texts conforms with logic, the "laws" of nature, and the physical evidence.
On this basis I propose the literal meaning is author intent and we misapprehend it in the same way as the authors of the "book of the dead".
When they said osiris sits in the henu boat the two boats tied together tow the earth by means of balance it was literal. When they said tefnut makes the earth high under the sky by means of her arems it was literal. The "Ritual of Ascension" aren't "really" translatable at all but author intent is very close to a literal translation. "Bring me the boat that flies up and alights, simply means a boat that flies up and alights is desired and this is all completely literal. There REALLY was a boat that flew up and alit.
What "research" is even possible to simply read the PT literally? They meant what they said; no more, no less.
