The PT's make clear that there were two "horizons" - one being the earthly horizon at which the sun rises and sets, and the other being the celestial horizon - this being a much harder to spatially delineate "event" horizon that was situated around the celestial pole. This is the "horizon" most frequently being mentioned in these texts which the deceased King is seeking to go to - and to cross.
I believe it was this circumpolar "horizon" that in some way the Khufu complex was being connected with, and not so much the solar, earthly, horizon. In the PT's, the circumpolar "horizon" is continually referred to as where the King could become "Akhified", not the solar horizon. I would in fact be grateful to be learn where in the PT's it is unambiguously shown that it is the solar horizon that the King is striving to get to. Perhaps I have missed seeing this for what it is.
By the way, a quick check in Holscher's Grabdenkmal (pp. 111-112) has shown that he translates "Akhet Khufu" as the "Horizon of Khufu". This was published in 1912, while Hassan's Giza X was published in 1960. As I said, I am sure the "Horizon of Khufu" translation goes back much further than this.
