(The subject of Belmonte and Shaltout's work has been raised before ... )

According to those two authors, who obtained a wide distribution of orientations for
temples in the Nile Valley, it seems certain that temples were orientated to the Nile. Only when they factored in the orientation of the river at the time of construction did any sense come out of the data.
