Ecclesiastes says there is nothing new under the sun and this was
penned for the bible around 2500 years ago. Ecclesiastes was prob-
ably an oral tradition long before the advent of writing which puts
it many more centuries before this.
There are lots of types of myths and some are probably literally
true and a fair representation of actual events and other types can
be more in the realm of epic poetry or songs which are hugely em-
bellished and only loosely based on any sort of thing which actually
occurred.
In modern times we are very quick to discount all of these myths and
accept a whole new sort. Most myths survive because they illuminate
moral imperatives or paint the true nature of life and Gods. We re-
tell them endlessly often reset in a modern context. But the fact is
that some of these are probably literally true. We don't understand
them but this is partly because we can't see through the eyes of the
ancients and partly because we don't have the imagination to see.
There is nothing new under the sun. Everything was done and said long
before the first known individual trod the Earth. Some of the myths
may even be about people who lived far in the misty past.
One imagines Isis was such an individual.
