Hi Dave,
Are you quoting from a book from 1975 which in turn quotes from Badawy's 1964 writing?
If so, this seems like it doesn't add anything new to the subject but is more like an exercise in presenting presumed authorities who lend credance to a particular theory by citing other presumed authorities.
It would be nice imo to have reasons/evidence/explanations from Mr Grinsell as to why he decided to cite Alexander Badawy, otherwise this doesn't add anything new to the discussion as far as I can tell.
If Badawy is to be taken uncritically as an expert in ancient Egyptian architecture then his extensive work illustrating how AE temples and tombs were designed according to Phi would also need to be taken seriously. Have you seen any of Badawy's complicated geometrical studies of AE architecture? They make some of the Giza geometry designs previously posted on this forum seem tame by comparison, imo.
To the extent that this forum is presumably supposed to be about weighing evidence, simply quoting this or that specialist in the field without taking a good look at the basis for their opinion seems like making an argument from authority and not one derived from facts and evidence.
