RB: It doesn't matter how much 'authority' Badawy had or not, his argument and the case he made with Trimble is valid no matter their academic credentials.
SC: Then
why in the links I posted previously do you make use of the '
weight of authority' in these debates but you accept the Badawy/Trimble argument 'no matter their credentials'? It appears you selectively use the 'weight of authority' when it suits your argument.
RB: Nonsense. The shaft can only point to one star, which I proposed Al nitak. However in my books and articles I clearly stated on numerous occasions, and show several times with diagrams, that the shaft pointed at the figure of Sah, made up of not one but several stars, principally Orion's belt.
SC: Robert, by
virtue of pointing to Al Nitak, this shaft is
bound to point to Orion's Belt! So, what is more
logically consistent - we have the three other shafts apparently aimed at individual stars but a fourth that is aimed at the whole of Orion's Belt? No - not logical or consistent, Robert.
RB: I have never suggested or supported the single-star/Sah hypothesis.
SC: I never said you did but you do promote the 4 shafts as pointing to 4 individual stars, and advocate one of them, Al Nitak, in Orion's Belt.
RB: I do not like semantics...
SC: Unfortunately, Robert, this is precisely the battleground for what is being debated here, whether you like it or not. From dictionary.com:
'Semantics' : the meaning, or an interpretation of the meaning, of a word, sign, sentence, etc.
In this case we are discussing the semantics of S3h or Sah.
RB: ...nor convoluted arguments by people who try and put words in my mouth.
SC: I thoroughly reject this, Robert. I am not putting any more words into your mouth than came forth from it in the first place. You say 'Al Nitak' for one of the KC shafts. No matter which way you wish to dress it up, that is entirely in accordance with Badawy's interpretation of Sah, "...'a kind of Prince among the other stars', 'the most powerful among the stars' and 'Orion [probably beta-Orionis] as the brightest star in the southern sky....
RB: I am not impressed with such immature debating tactics.
SC: Well that's good, Robert because I am not here to impress you - I am here to debate with you.
