Lets say a gold model of the Giza layout was passed down,
Why would it wait till late in the 4th dynasty to reveal itself?
Why would there be no proto-model evidence?
Wouldn't the very earliest tomb structures begin to show a crude attempt to replicate?
As far as I know there isn't any remote resemblance.
Remember they have now found Woodhenge, the proto model of Stonehenge.
Who?
There have been literally thousands of people searching for over 100 years for the ancestor society... during the twentieth century, the 20s and 30s, searching for proof of a proto "Aryan" society absorbed a lot of effort. Yet no evidence has been found... So who do you think this society was? Lemuria? Atlantis? Who?
WHY?
Here's the big one (to me); People's lifestyles and "accessories" have changed, human nature hasn't. Let's say for arguments sake global warming is real, it spirals out of control, and within 50 years we realize society as we know it is going down, will pass through a population bottleneck, a new ice and stone age, and emerge 10 millenia from then with next to no memory of the time before.
We have a chance to encode some data... pass along a small bit of our hard earned experience
A bunch of us have a meeting, many discussing how to try to guide, warn, alert them of pitfalls when the population and society again climbs out of the pit.
Possible options discussed are over-population pressures, pollution, uncontrolled resource usage.
Your hand goes up... and you say "Let's show them the layout of the Orion belt!"
And the rest of us say "WHY?"
