Hey, Hans.
It's not too different really from the way Hancock "found" precessional numbers. John Wall wrote an article on it a while back. Here's a quote:

Let's summarise what Hancock has done here.
He's started by moving the goal posts so far apart that they might as well not be there !
Next he's taken three corners of the King's chamber and drawn a triangle between them.
He's then performed three - totally unjustified - mathematical operations; division by 3, cubing and addition to get a number which he has defined as significant and he then tells us that he doesn't think it's accidental !
Is this a deliberately encoded precessional number or a conjuror's sleight of hand ?

This kind of mathematical trickery isn't that much different, really. They just slide that "2x" in there as if it was perfectly natural... normal... shouldn't even matter.
Let's see if they feel that way next time they fill up at the pump. 'Oh, I know it said $2.89 a gallon on the pump and signs, but I decided to charge you twice that... $5.78 a gallon. You don't mind, do you? It's just twice what the number actually says, but it's really the same thing, you know."
Yeah... we'll see how long that difference goes unnoticed then, eh?
