I guess that socio-economic realities trump everything else! But, to me, this is also clearly shows that Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Russia have much less power nowadays on global environmental policy...

However, in defense of the US position, the fact still is that junk science dominates the present global warming position! When it is cold, raining and snowing in the Mountains in California in June, it is very hard for the average folk to buy the global warming message that these more liberal countries want to convey in the name of science!!!
