Remember that there is also nothingness in between the electron energy layers and the nucleus -- meaning in inner spaces...

Well, IMHO the main problem is that most people look at things as objects and not as energy forms! If one looks at true really, then there are no particles, only energy forms and that explains "nothingness" since there is nothing there to start with...

Action/reaction occurs at the specific events where the various waves interfere (act) on each other. IMHO, it just impossible to explain the Universe in a "objective" way because it is primarily subjective! In other words, you and I can look at the same identical object and still describe it differently...

Well, there is nothing there and nothing here!
..but, it still seems that there is an transfer of energy going on at the lower end of the spectrum since the Universe appears to be expanding to the observer!
Here is the best explanation, at least to me. If one assumes in the first place that all reality is encoded in frequency at different wavelength, then, for some reason, there needs to be a continuous transfer of energy REAL TIME (say for storage purposes!) since action/reaction is happening all of the time also in REAL TIME (the here and now, which ultimately is the ONLY reality)...
Since there is an infinite number of frequencies, this transfer of energy process could continue to go on forever and ever! Expansion towards zero frequency implies a frozen and perfect Universe and expansion towards infinite frequency implies a transition of state towards some sort of a big bang -- probably what actually happens!!!
