Well my favorite takes place before there was history. Quest for Fire(1982) dipicts human survival 80,000 years ago complete with Neanderthals, some more primative form that I assume is meant to represent H. erectus and a couple of clades of AMHs as well as sabre tooth tigers and wooley mammoths. Not one word of any modern language is spoken (Anthony Burgess created languages for all the groups) and Desmond Morris (The Naked Ape) consulted on the body language. Unfortunately the realism of the production means that it can never be shown on family TV. Rea Dawn Chong was always nude except for body paint.

As it turns out Jean Jacques Annaud was right that several distinct subspecies of humans did exist at that time, but it wasn't until 15 years later that redating of H. erectus showed that they survived up until that time.
