I found this cool website the other day:

Out of interest, and since we're all history buffs to some extent, what is your take on the recent outpour of historical movies? The recent ones include King Arthur, Passion of the Christ, Alexander, Last Samurai, Troy amongst many others. I still remember the time when my sister and i literally watched one after another every weekend until we were sick of them. Worse, this was inbetween and after the Lord of the Rings trilogy. That said, it was pretty diverse going from ancient to religious, and modern to legendary. When it comes historical movies, i'm not too bothered with the history surprisingly enough. One of favourites is still "Gladiator", which has been criticised as not being very accurate, even though the story was fictional. This thread needn't be polemical. I'm more interested in your views on the movies and how their historical themes were portrayed as opposed to the history itself. Hence, the popular media forum!
