Don't take this as a negative against your upcoming marriage but my ex-husband and I did the same when we were married years ago (and no, the length of it wasn't the cause for divorce! )
The reasoning was that marriage shouldn't be a losing of one person's familial identity. I wasn't so fond of my maiden name the second time around though, lol!
