I once served on a jury in a very boring case that had all we jurors bordering on sleep.
Until, that is, the prosecution mentioned totally unexpectedly a matter concerning a certain activity between two consenting adults. Suddenly, and as if by magic, all we jurors are sitting bolt-upright, wide-awake, and all ears!

Perhaps the Courts could learn from this.
