I agree wholeheartedly at limiting public smoking. Smoking bans in restaurants and other public places (including places of employment) happened several years ago and, although I'm a smoker, I really enjoyed the fresh air that it brought. New Mexico, however, does not have said bans and I still can't get over the smell when we enter a smoking permitted restaurant. It really grosses me out and I really don't like my kids breathing it in from somebody across the way.

Not all smokers are discourteous though. I am mildly asthmatic and smoke is very irritating to me. If I do happen to have a cigarette where other people may be present, I go outside and stand at least 20 feet away from any non-smokers in the vicinity. I figure that it's only common courtesy.
