<HTML>Please note that Brumsfeld announced that one of the goals of the bombing attacks in the last 3 days was to attain control of the airways over Afghanistan.
Why do you suppose we would want that?
So our fighters can shoot land targets better?
Well, I'd be naieve to say that wasn't part of the answer... but let's see what the FIRST thing cited is:
" U.S. military leaders said American forces were now able to carry out raids day or night, and the way is clear for increased delivery of humanitarian aid."
Well, that may explain why only 37,000 packets were dropped initially. The other 1,963,000 packets were being saved for lower altitude drops on clear civilian populations.
So. Somehow we will be faulted for dropping food now, because a packet might hit a child.
Keep going. Keep criticizing. At least the United States is doing SOMETHING to help these people... both short AND long term.
