I love innovative machines and ideas and theories -- so strange as it seems I'm with you in a sense because I know that innovation is what changes the world. Doesn't matter if you're right or wrong -- the main thing is you're inventing and so if you haven't already contributed one day you will contribute something.
If you've worked hard on a project and put your heart into it then that's more than a lot of stuffy old protectors of the status quo have done or ever will do. This is why I like Dunn even though I don't agree with him. I don't think he's right about AE but at least he's brought in some challenges and shaken things up.
I don't have to tell you this is why I'm so fascinated by the geopolymer theory -- what a shakeup and it works every which way you look at it. You keep going and you'll find your niche too and it may in be some area more important field than archaeology--not to worry.
Just keep shaking the tree and invent invent invent.
