<HTML>Wow.
You guys are REALLY sensitive to this stuff, aren't you?
I was NOT intending to imply overt manipulation of the facts. I was just discussing how easy it is to switch things around... and actually admiring you for doing it so well.
Sorry, guys.
I was also empathizing with the Hancock/Bauval camp in a way... I can understand WHY they would find things wrong in the way things were presented. Mine, however, was just an academic discussion of the topic... I was NOT intending to criticize your efforts in any way, shape or form. I was intending to play a "devil's advocate" role here... not expressing my own actual views.
I was actually just rambling on about impressions I got while watching it... that's all. I was also ACTIVELY looking for why GH and RB felt the program was SO biased... maybe my preconceived notion that it WAS biased, as demonstrated by the BBC ruling AGAINST the program may have caused me to see things that weren't there... or to accent things that really weren't all that significant.
Again, sincere apologies. I thought the program was excellent. Having spent years directing video production myself, I know how hard it is to carry off what you did. The camera work was quite extraordinary, actually. The opening scene with Hancock on a Hilltop was pretty cool. Was that his idea or yours? Bauval in a Benz... good touch. Krupp in a Closet... well, enough said. He DID have an AWFULLY small office...
You did what you set out to do... examine the evidence. If I had to make any criticism at all, it would be that YOU examined the evidence, and came to your conclusion that it did not support the LC hypothesis. Then, you set about presenting the evidence ina way that clearly showed what you had decided was the truth. In making any kind of "examination" documentary, it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to avoid doing this. We are, after all, only human.
And, you have helped put MANY people onto the straight and narrow regarding the LC theory. Thanks and kudos for that.
Of course, like any good amateur, I'm a little concerned about REMOVING the mystery...
tourist dollars will dry up really quickly. lol.
Take care, and again, I sincerely apologize for being so flippant in what have turned out to be thoughtless comments.
Yours,
