I'm planning on "pulling" the excavation reports and seeing what they've got to say. AFAIK it's securely datable within an early 19th dynasty context and any <i>suggestions</i> that it's significantly earlier are merely fantasies, or references to obsolete sources, or both on the part of Hancock, etc.

Abydos as a site goes back well into the Naqada periods (4th millenium BC) so the temples may well have been built on an older site but there's nothing that might indicate that Edgar Cayce was around in his time machine with a hammer and chisel in 10500BC.....
