<HTML>Claire,
You are correct of course. What do we do? How do we do it?
These are all valid questions, and I am afraid I have no easy or rounded answers. I do know though that making the 'Rubble Bounce', while bringing some measure of comfort for some, will not be a solution to the problem. I certainly think that the Allies were correct in fighting Hitler, but I deplore the mass bombings of Dresden and Hamburg. I think history has judged these acts as 'moral crimes'.
The pacifist in me deplores the idea of 'lashing out', yet these monsters must be brought to justuce.
I do think that the American's are attempting to build a 'Global' concensus before pursuing the perpetartors, and this may help. Joint, rather than unilatteral action will be more effective.
It is time for Europe to support America, and in this Europe can play a moderating role, after all it has taken us over two tousand years of self mutilation to even begin to start living with each other. We should make our voice heard and back that up with action too.
Best
