<HTML>Hi Jason and all,
The amount of time that I have watched John Edward has been very minimal... but I think what affected me most was a portion of a "60 Minutes" type program that spotlighted him. In it, he came up with the name of one of their cameramen in connection to a dead father... and even came up with a special ring that was involved... the cameraman looked stunned and when interviewed sayed he had no idea how Edward knew that info. But unfortunately for Edward, another cameraman had shot some sort of get together earlier in the day where Edward was seen not only talking to the special cameraman, but even was told about the cameraman's deceased father. When questioned, Edward first denied any previous meeting of the special cameraman... he looked visibly distraught when he had to admit that the second cameraman's film definitely showed him meeting and talking with the special cameraman. Someone else the show interviewed indicated that it is a standard policy for "psychics" to mention jewelry, since there is often sentimental attachment between family members with rings, etc. (ie, a "high probability" hit in most reads).
I am not trying to make judgement here... just present some additional info. that noone else posted that has a bearing on my present skepticism. However, I also want to point out another direction of thought... if his efforts do indeed bring closure for some (many) people who come to him because they are indeed still emotionally unsettled, one has to ask the question "To whom is it more important to be right... those that are skeptical and want to verify their skeptical outlook, or those who will be able to go on with their lives normally because he helps them over that hurdle of emotional closure"? Sorry for the philosophical can of worms!!!
Btw, recently saw a TV special on a magician (David Blaine?) who made me question my own sanity... or at least my perception of the laws of physics... and since I don't really believe he can actually levitate, etc., ... :-)
