<HTML>If someone says "this and that" cannot be falsified, then that something has become a belief system.
If something is recognised as having a falsifiable basis, then it is a valid theory (anyone, whether they are professors or the local beggar would recognise that if a theory says agriculture arose 5000 BC and evidence is found for a date of 8000 BC then that theory is overturned, and that the original theory has a falsifiable base.) It's not about people trusting everything they read, it's about the underlying principles.
