<HTML>Hi Claire,
A quick couple of points. None of the geologists I am awrae of who have worked on the Sphinx are in agreement with Schoch. Apparently he has received letters of support from various geologists (confirmed by an independent source) but who they are remains unknown. Three of the major geologists, Harrell, Lal Gauri and Ossian all disagree with Schoch and all have examined the Sphinx independently - which to me says a lot. Colin also disagrees with Schoch.
Lal Gauri's view has only received criticism from Colin (and then again only in part) and Schoch. James Harrell used to regard the weathering on the Sphinx as having been caused by subterranean water soaking into the body of the Sphinx, but he now regards that view as faulty and agrees with Lal Gauri.
