However, it appears that the Na-Dené speaking peoples entered North American circa 6kya from Siberia, possibly at the Queen Charlotte Islands (Haida). The Athabascan speaking Na-Dené tribes emigrated to the southwest by 1450AD, many thousands of years after the Pericu had entered the Americas. The Hopis still refer to the Navajo as "those Asians" (source: Snake Clan member, a PhD and good friend).
