Hi Ronald,
It indeed is very important/interesting that professionals will take a closer look. We need them. But what I find so surprising is that Houdin's 'tunnels' were not physically discovered in the past. How is that possible ? The great pyramid is attracting researchers/visitors/vandals etc. for centuries now. Dynamite has been used to penetrate into the stone-mass. Nevertheless, no such tunnels/ramps revealed. Couldn't this mean that there simply are no such tunnels?
Of course there is a possibility that those tunnels do not exist. I never did say they do absolutely exist.
On the other hand, I don't see any of your above points as eventual evidence towards them not existing. Yes, dynamite was used on GP. Do you know where and how many times? What are the chances of those explosions missing the tunnel, any tunnel... heck anything inside the mass? How do you supposed the visitors and vandals dig into those tunnels, when (as you note) some needed to use dynamite to
try to get through?
Moreover, for years (actually since the French team in 1986 performed the microgravimetry!) Hawass didn't allow any kind of testing on or around the GP, because "there was nothing there". I think that that is exactly the kind of attitude that gets us nowhere, and am truly glad that Hawass seems (according to Nature and another mag which name eludes me) open to Houdin's theory, because that may result in thorough investigation with best possible means.
Therefore at this very moment, I soooo hope Hawass doesn't think like you and once again go "nah, there is nothing there" but goes ahead with the works!
