at the very least..... assuming that the French team goes on do a more complete study.

Some very pertinent questions will be answered for good one way or the other.

I think it important to remember that with so many special interest groups lobbying for this and that access/study/revisitation/whatever...the path of least resistance(protestation) is that one which carries the least potential re: accusations of preferential bias

IOW's... it's compelling enough to a wide enough body of expertise to be a priority vis a vis areas for further exploration.

PS I've never signed off completely for or against the idea of overall ramping. I can't see a method of transport that doesn't at least include a degree of ramping and given the fact of the superstructure available during construction it only makes sense that a sensible people could have taken advantage of this.

But!!

I do not see why there would neccessarily have to be remnants of tunnels for us to have to accept the idea of ANY degree of interior ramping as a possibility
