I was misrepresented in what I had said about the carving of granite. People are now attributing the ludicrous simile to me, personally.
I cannot drop it so long as people think I made the claim. I did not. Unlike others who randomly throw such claims around I actually care about my words and my reputation. I tend to get quoted by alternadoxers, so I have to be cautious of what people say I've said.
The fact of the matter is granite was carved like stone; basic tools and multiple man-hours. I never even intimated it was any less, and I do not think it is productive to ignore the copious evidence we do possess in favor of wild, exaggerated claims of "secret stone carving technologies" that could carve granite "like warm butter". This sort of thing leads to campaigns of disinformation... regularly.
Clearly you can see the problem here. Please don't stop me from correcting the misquote in the future, unless you're willing to go back and edit out the misquote so people don't actually think, as Archae obviously did, that it came from me.
