Yes, I agree about the Egyptians not having a problem in making more men to execute a job deemed important. Seen the amount and the magnificent quality of the statuary produced during the dynastic times, there is no question of the fact that they truly did put an effort to this type of representation. Not to talk about it's connotations in the religious use.
Moreover,
IF the pestilence was about to hit Egypt or had already started it's ravages somewhere about the land, I see even less problems for AIII to order even 10.000 men to carve and polish Sekhmets!!
The Sekhmets in the BM were truly amazing! They wore completely different expressions on their faces, as if different moods! The one sitting in the middle (of the three sitting Sekhs) was my favourite. Older than the others, majestic, dangerous, but peaceful and secure at the same time.
