<HTML>Slightly more complex. I had (shall we say) a small disagreement with John Anthony West on the EGYPTNEWS mailing list in 1998, which led among other things to my posting the (then) URL of my page on Hancock's version of the forgery claim in KOG. Then Hancock's position statement appeared; I'm not sure if he sent it directly or if someone else sent it on his behalf (but it can be checked). The wording suggests to me that the page had prompted him to clarify his position. I offered to put it up on the web, an offer he accepted.

I wonder when we'd have seen it without my prompting.

I understand that this same position statement is what I missed in the new introduction to FOG.</HTML>
