<HTML>Dear all, something has just occured to me. If we look at the position of the vernal equinox at 10500 BC, on the Leo/Virgo Border, i.e:

I don't know about you, but it's much closer to the main stars of what is now the Virgo constellation than the main stars of what is now the Leo constellation. Since the ancient egyptians didn't have discrete boundaries between their constellations, that is what's important.
Now, 1800 or so years later, the vernal equinox had shifted to the middle of the Leo constellation, near Regulus. Surely then this (8700 BC) would have been a better time if Sphinx=Leo?
