Yes, me too, all the stories are in sequence, there are five stories; the 1st story mostly lost but we do learn of Khufu commanding offerings to be given to Djoser and Imhotep, 2nd story concerns 3rd dynasty king Nebka and his lector priest, 3rd story is about Khufu's father Sneferu going for a boat ride with naked women rowing the vessel (interesting that a prince would tell a story about h

engbren, Thank you for the link, certainly worth the time to read.
I love the fact that the telling of these stories takes place in the palace of Khufu... stories of past, present and future - relative to Khufu's time. It shows that after more than a thousand years the legendary king Khufu remained a popular subject for story telling, not much has changed...

I revisited a paragraph published by Mark Lehner in "The Complete Pyramid: Solving the Ancient Mysteries" (Thames & Hudson, London 1997) ...it's found under the rubric; Tombs and Temples, p. 20, and provides his thoughts on what a an Egyptian pyramid is:

"In fact, each pyramid ensured the rule of universal ord

I have read most of the posts on this thread, Hancock is not interested in anything other than money... full stop. As a few went on to comment here... what has he discovered or uncovered? nothing except financial reward for doubting facts and creating hysteria over ridiculous arguments against archaeologists... that's his game, create controversy with no solution, he's lived well with t

I don't think they were encoding anything, rather they were interested in Maat. Pi is an irrational ratio just like the diagonal of a square, the latter was used by the Egyptians to form half area measures (Remen); 1 Setat (Grk; Aroura) area = 100 x 100 rc, 1 Remen area equals 1/2 Setat area... via the 100 x 100 rc square's diagonal.
I also think that the two most prominent elements

The trend with current field work in lower Egypt (Nile Delta) supports Romer's view, but there can be no doubt the expansion of Naqada culture also included military power, in fact Naqada IIc expansion went beyond lower Egypt into the Levant. In my opinion you should read "Before The Pyramids - Origins of Egyptian Civilization" (Oriental Institute Museum Publication 33 - The Orient

The irony, Egyptologists agree khafre’s pyramid base sides were intended to be 411 Royal cubits in length, which happens to agree entirely with the archaeological survey results when using 20.62” per cubit….
Petrie (1883) mean side length for G2… 8474.9”
Maragiolio&Rinaldi (1965)…. 8474.8”
Mean of surveys……. 8474.85”
8474.85” @ 20.62”

In review of the archaeological field work on G1 (Khufu) the most accurate results…
Petrie (1883) Mean of all base side lengths = 9068.8”
Cole (1935) Mean of all base side lengths = 9069.45”
Dash-Paulson (2015) Mean of all base side lengths = 9069.42”
All Surveys Mean = 9069.27”
@ 20.62” per Royal Cubit 9069.27” = 439.828” or 439 + 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/15

Heliopolis' royal influence began during the second dynasty, it seems possible that all kings from Djoser on (those who built pyramids) built shrines or chapels in or near the Temple of Atum (Kahl). Pyramids are the direct result of royal solar cult afterlife doctrine and are associated with the ben-ben stone fetish of Heliopolis (Lehner), remarkably the apex stone forming the pyramids top (

Merer was one of thousands of such inspectors spread over three or four generations, Tallet has mentioned a few times that the only reason the papyri were found, as they were, was because of the remoteness of the site... makes me hopeful there's more to be found. The discovery is a small window into the 4th dynasty logistical abilities and the management of a sophisticated royal work crew.

What I find to be a head scratcher; people come up with these esoteric concepts without explaining at all why the Egyptians were trying to prove the size of the planet, to what benefit were they engaged in such an enterprise? The Greeks you could say were prone to philosophical questions and perhaps would present such questions, who designed the Antikythera calculator? I have always squinted one

All of the recovered cubit rods are ceremonial.
Heroditus writes the priests told him the pyramid was built from the top down. Imagining this; the face of the Tura casing of Khufu's pyramid was left in the rough, the joints between the stones were well crafted, eventually the finished pyramidion was set atop the pyramid... all the tura limestone facing in the rough was trimmed to match

There's a good case to be made that Osiris dates as far back as early-dynastic Egypt... but nothing definitive.
"The PT, as well as the CT and other later texts, call Horus a son of Osiris-Orion and Sothis-Isis-Hathor. Osiris and Isis are not attested before Dynasty V. On the other hand, PT-371 identifies Khenti-imentiu (Foremost-of-the-Westerners), the divine patron of the royal nec

HI Mark,
I'm not clear on the functional aspects of incorporating the volume of a sphere or the featuring of a sphere in mortuary temples or any mortuary context in the OK or MK. I don't know of any examples before or after Khufu that provides a path for the use of a sphere in any capacity beyond the diorite pounding balls recovered from Old Kingdom sites, could you cite? Great explanation. I feel the "he comes in peace" is a product of someone interested in propagating or rounding the late 2nd dynasty discord (civil conflict) with the arrival of Imhotep in Djoser's court; perhaps assuming his origin was from the north as a non royal or elite from Heliopolis.

Depends on the target... Pre and Early Dynastic; Rene Friedman - Stan Hendrix - Toby Wilkinson, though Early dynastic interp. barriers (conventional theory) have been sort of broken by Jochem Kahl "Ra is my Lord" and Rolf Krauss "Early Royal Identity" (Proceedings of the SEAC 2010 Conference), both really good reads. As you mentioned, it will be interesting to learn the results of Scan 2.0, and the opinions of Egyptologists. Publishing results of Scan 1.0 without consulting the council first was a mistake, however the word salads offered by Lehner and Hawass to discredit Scan 1.0 (Swiss cheese and normal construction voids) aren't exactly proven either and were not convincing. It remains to be seen if th
