The pole of the night sky is 1/12 th of a circle above the horizon at Giza.
The equinox sun is 1/12 th of a circle from the vertical at Giza.
Does the latitude of Giza invite the division of both day time and night time into 12 parts?
Perhaps Khufu's Horizon was the celestial destiny of the king, repeated day after day, with 12 hours for the sun's journey across the heavens, and 12 hours for the everlasting stars of night.
Is it possible that the location of the Great Pyramid led to the division of a day into 24 hours?
Perhaps it was believed that the king returned from the circumpolar stars to the King's Chamber via the the KC north shaft at dawn, and then left by the KC south shaft to the sun.
Or do we know the origin of 24 hours was not Egypt?
